One on One with Kurt Rusch, CLU, ChFC
What makes you different than other financial planners?
I think that the thing that separates me from other planners is my ability to
break down complex issues into understandable concepts for my clients. I am willing to work with any motivated person or company regardless of their size to set up a plan to help them acquire and protect assets. I also believe that the fact I am an independent “broker” unequivocally allows me to customize and personally tailor the best fit for my clients’ needs by having access to numerous insurance carriers and financial institutions.
How would you describe your working philosophy?
My philosophy is to treat my clients as I would my friends and family. I also
believe in being blind to commissions. I think that a great many planners do a disservice to their clients by putting their interests (commissions) ahead of the interests of the client. When you truly do your best to come up with the best solution for your client, you will be rewarded with long term loyalty.
What would you do for me as a client, Kurt?
The first thing we would do is review the current plans in place to give us an appropriate starting point. Our objective would be to ascertain what is
necessary, what may need to be tweaked and analyze if there are any gaps in or absence of coverage. Financially, one cannot afford to insure against all risk; however, it is equally important to assess all risks before determining those that are paramount to insure against. Once this review is complete, we can assess the plans in place and determine if they are still appropriate versus alternative choices.
